Festivities

The coast will be ablaze with synchronised fireworks at the major D-Day landing sites, there will be a giant picnic on Omaha Beach, Liberation balls, and several hundred soldiers will parachute into the air over Sainte-Mère-Eglise. The festivities will be in full swing throughout the year, particularly around 6 June. It's a great way to join in this spirit of fraternity.

The D-Day Festival Normandy

It will run from 1 June 2024 to 16 June 2024 along the entire coastline of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.

Parachuting, parades, concerts, historical re-enactments, fireworks, exhibitions, projections, etc. The event features almost 100 tourist, popular, cultural and festive events.

The official ceremony

Official ceremonies and festivities are scheduled to honour the memory of those who landed on the Normandy coast and took part in the Battle of Normandy in 1944.

This year's ceremony will take place on 6 June 2024 at Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer (Omaha Beach).
